The CompTIA 2019 IT Industry outlook forecasts a tight labor market with a tech skills gap waiting to be filled.
Large tech companies such as Apple and IBM are meeting job candidates half way by no longer requiring a four-year college degree for many of their positions. By changing this long-established standard, this opens up positions to thousands of potential candidates.
Now is the time to take advantage of any and all alternative training options such as:
- Community college continuing education workshops and courses in your area.
- On-the-job training and mentorship programs.
- Boot camp IT training. Appeal to your HR department to find out if your company will sponsor you in taking a week-long training course such as the one's ATG Learning is offering this summer.
Now is the time to upskill and pursue the IT certifications that will verify your level of expertise. Find the IT career path you are on and excel from there.
